The Heartbreak of Vet Bills:
My first topic this evening is the cost of a minor disagreement in the shrubbery. The cat was tested, medicated, shaved, drained, and handed back to us to nurse back to health. The bill was for $337. She’s been altered, but there is a tomcat who has not and I’m considering borrowing a cat trap from the local shelter, catching the bastard, and taking him to a low-cost spay-neuter clinic.
When she first came home she was so drunk on painkillers that she could hardly stand up, and she did not seem to know us….
….or maybe she was just mad.
She decided to take a little nourishment the following day. She is not allowed outside yet and that is the thing she wants most right now. She is very embarassed about the shaved fur, but it’s not as bad as the Cone-shaped Party Hat of Shame. She has just about forgiven us for taking her to the vet and letting them do mean things to her.
Like shave her.
On a happier note, the tile man has worked steadily for three days now and the sink is back. Monday he put down a thin smooth coat and made sure everything was level. He let it dry overnight.
This is what he did on Tuesday:
The deck is just about finished on Tuesday at noon.
Today, Wednesday at 6:50 am, he started on the backsplash:
And this is what it looks like right now. The yellow area above the little mural is where the fan will go. I am thrilled at the way this looks and the fact that the kitchen will function and I will have enough lighting and twice the storage.
In order to keep things moving, I ran out twice to find him the little wedge separators. The first time was for the white ones, the second time was after I located a company that sold the red ones.
There may be a problem with the space for the range: it may be a very tight squeeze. Esteban said he’d check it tomorrow when he comes back.
