I found this at Sadly, No and thought it was instructive:

If you can’t see the entire graph, click on it or the link above. The green line taking a dive to the bottom is our current situation.

Yeah, I saw it there too.
Now I’m depressed.
It would be nice if they’d put the Great Depression numbers up on that thing too. Just for shits and giggles.
That would be interesting for the sake of comparison, but I wonder if that would just make the current situation look like a picnic, and we all know how certain pundits would use that.
In looking at this, I have to say that all three seem to begin when Republicans have control of two of the three: House, Senate, White House. Pretty damning. The 1990 recession is the reason I voted for Clinton.
We’re so screwed. The Republicans had SO MUCH time to steal us blind that there’s NO WAY that even my hero Obama will be able to ‘fix’ it.
Perhaps if we start prosecuting the bank criminals instead of giving them government money for bonuses, we’ll manage to come out ahead in twenty or thirty years? Rich white people have ruined the world. Isn’t it time to return the favor and ruin theirs?
Tax them to the hilt. No mercy. No taxes on first 100k then 85% marginal rate. I could live with that.
Enjoy.
The element that puzzles me is that less than a hundred days into the administration, there are “deep thinkers” who are asking why the greedy landslide hasn’t been stopped and reversed.
I can’t help it. A quote from Walt Kelly keeps coming to mind. “Ding BingYou Blue-Blangin’, Back Stabbin’ Turn Coats.”
